Our Method

Our Unique Approach To Raccoon Removal

Raccoons can enter attics, roofs, soffits, vents, and other sheltered areas of a home. Removing them effectively requires identifying where they are living, how they are getting inside, and whether additional entry points need attention. Our technicians inspect the property and develop an appropriate removal and prevention plan.

Property Inspection

Our technician begins by inspecting the property for signs of raccoon activity, potential nesting areas, damage, and entry points. This helps us determine where the raccoons are accessing the home and the appropriate approach for removal.

Raccoon Removal & Prevention

We use professional removal methods appropriate to the situation and address accessible entry points where applicable. Once the raccoon problem has been resolved, we can recommend preventative measures to help reduce the likelihood of raccoons gaining access to your property again.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can’t find your answer? Our team is always happy to help.

What Are Raccoons?

Raccoons are medium-sized mammals native to North America and are common throughout Ontario and other parts of Canada. They are highly adaptable and often live close to people, where attics, roofs, sheds, garages, and other sheltered spaces can provide suitable places to den.

Why Are Raccoons Coming to My Property?

Raccoons are usually looking for food, water, or shelter. Garbage, pet food, gardens, compost, and accessible structures can attract them. If your home has an opening that provides access to a warm, protected space, a raccoon may also attempt to establish a den.

How Do I Know If I Have Raccoons in My Attic?

Common signs include scratching, thumping, or movement noises—particularly at night—along with damaged vents, soffits, shingles, or other potential entry points. You may also notice droppings, tracks, disturbed insulation, or damage around the exterior of your home. Mosquito Man can inspect your property to identify signs of raccoon activity and potential entry points.

Can I Remove a Raccoon Myself?

Trying to remove a raccoon yourself is generally not recommended. Raccoons are wild animals and may become defensive, particularly when cornered or protecting their young. Mosquito Man provides professional raccoon removal and can inspect the property for entry points, denning areas, and other signs of activity.

Are Raccoons Dangerous?

Raccoons generally prefer to avoid people, but they can defend themselves if they feel threatened. They can also carry diseases and parasites, and their droppings may present health concerns. Avoid approaching, feeding, touching, or attempting to capture a raccoon yourself.

What Should I Do If a Raccoon Is Living in My Attic?

Avoid immediately sealing the entry point because dependent young could still be inside. A professional inspection can determine where the raccoon is entering, whether a den is present, and what removal approach is appropriate before vulnerable areas are secured.

How Can I Prevent Raccoons From Coming Back?

Reducing access to food and shelter can make your property less attractive to raccoons. Secure garbage and compost containers, avoid leaving pet food outdoors, and address vulnerable areas such as damaged vents, soffits, roof edges, and other openings. After removal, securing identified entry points can help reduce the risk of future intrusion.

Does Mosquito Man Provide Professional Raccoon Removal?

Yes. Mosquito Man provides professional raccoon removal services, beginning with an assessment of the property and the signs of raccoon activity. The approach can include identifying denning areas and entry points, addressing the raccoon problem, and recommending measures to help protect the property from future intrusion.

Why Choose Mosquito Man for Raccoon Removal?

Mosquito Man has been serving Canadian homeowners since 2015 and provides professional service through licensed and insured technicians. Our approach focuses on understanding the specific raccoon problem at your property rather than applying the same solution to every situation.

Client Feedback

What Our Customers Say

Sophie Tremblay

We started hearing scratching above the bedroom at night and discovered a raccoon had found its way into our attic. Mosquito Man inspected the roof, identified the entry point near a damaged soffit, and handled the removal professionally. They also showed us exactly what needed to be secured afterward.

Daniel Morrison

A mother raccoon had made a den under our backyard deck, and we were worried about disturbing her and the babies. Mosquito Man assessed the situation and explained how the removal would be handled safely. The whole process was organized, and we appreciated how carefully they approached the animals and our property.

Priya Patel

We kept finding our garbage bins knocked over every morning and eventually noticed a raccoon getting onto the garage roof. Mosquito Man found an opening near one of the roof vents and addressed the raccoon problem before it became worse. The technician was thorough and gave us practical advice for preventing another intrusion.

Marc Gagnon

Loud noises from the attic woke us several nights in a row, but we couldn’t figure out how the raccoon was getting inside. Mosquito Man inspected the exterior and found damage along the roof edge that we had completely missed. The raccoon was dealt with professionally, and the recommendations for securing the house were clear and useful.
